Each year since we started we have hosted a tour with the Fundamentals of Organic Ag class at Green Mountain College. As in previous years the focus was definitely season extension crop varieties. I also talked a lot about marketing out of state which we are doing more and more of with our Organic Microgreens and other specialty produce. It was great to talk about our farm in this way. It really keeps it fresh for us. Jared and Finnegan joined the group at the end to discuss or sustainability measures with our biomass project.

Speaking of our Biomass Project, we are working on that section of our website. We have had a lot of folks interested in what we've done using our local wood resource and we want to keep everyone posted of our trials and tribulations while we experiment and test the system. After almost a 6 month heating season, we've built up quite a bit of knowledge on the subject. Actually, we are really looking forward to compiling our data to see how it all panned out.

We are busy building our website so if you are a new visitor, I hope you have patience and check back with us soon. Jared and I have had an exciting and exhausting winter and we are so happy to have some warm weather! We are still evaluating our new heating system that we installed in a mad rush last fall. Overall our feelings are mixed... but, we did have warm greenhouses all winter.  After 1/2 a year of negotiating, we have finally started supplying Trader Joes with their Organic Microgreens. The product is under their label and although we dont have a Trader Joes here in Vermont, we hear the retail price is pretty affordable. We love the product and eat it everyday.

It seemed like forever that we were waiting for the goahead from them. We were thinking that we would have started last fall but then we were waiting on nutritional labels, and artwork, etc. We actually recieved their labels on the darkest day of the year December 21 and they wanted it then! It took a few weeks to ensure supply but now we are rolling and the quality is great!
